CleanTechnica Webinar: Global Energy Trends 2023

Global Energy Trends 2023: Crisis, Contingencies, and Climate Change

You are here: Home / News / CleanTechnica Webinar: Global Energy Trends 2023

CleanTechnica webinars are back! The first one we’re hosting in 2023 will discuss energy trends in the year ahead – a hot topic for anyone in the cleantech and energy sectors.

Last year, world leaders gathered at COP26 to set targets for decarbonizing the global economy and the table was set for the energy transition. Since then, the energy landscape has changed dramatically. The energy crisis continues to bring to light the need to rethink energy usage and sources moving forward. Thus the discussion around energy trends in 2023 is a critical and timely one.

Along with CleanTechnica’s CEO, Zach Shahan, we will have special guests from GridBeyond, a company with a vision to build a shared energy economy. GridBeyond’s flagship white paper looks at the vulnerabilities and strengths of the energy sector and identifies renewables and technologies like energy storage, battery, and EVs as essential for a more resilient and flexible grid and a stronger energy market less dependent on fossil fuels.

Our panelists will include energy trend watchers like Wayne Muncaster (SVP North America of GridBeyond). He’s a regular industry speaker and advocate for enhanced energy services and demand side response. We’ll also have Joe Hayden (VP of Revenue North America, GridBeyond) included for the discussion. For 25 years, Joe has been managing teams selling wireless networks, IoT’s edge based solutions, as well as highly sophisticated automation solutions to the electric utility, security, and LED lighting industries.

Massive change is coming, thanks to the legislative and policy achievements of the first two years of the Biden administration. The current global energy crisis, which has led to sky-high prices and a weakening world economy, is set to only increase the attractiveness of renewables going forward. As renewable penetration on the grid continues to increase, technologies that can provide grid services and on-demand supply or demand reduction are expected to follow. Whether through increasing demand response and load optimization services or through increased installations of flexible generation assets.

In this webinar, we will examine the key energy trends that our panelists agree will be at the forefront of discussions about developments in the energy sector in 2023 and beyond. This CleanTechnica webinar will be open to questions from the audience, so please bring your burning 2023 energy questions to the panel discussion. Here’s the registration link again. See you there!
